About the Company
Our client is a fintech platform serving mid-market and enterprise customers, with a rapidly maturing go-to-market motion and strong product-market fit. The company is investing heavily in its commercial organization and is looking for a sales leader to build the next chapter of its revenue engine.
The Opportunity
The VP of Sales will own revenue growth end to end, reporting directly to the CRO or CEO. This is a hands-on building role: designing the sales organization’s structure, hiring and coaching a quota-carrying team, and establishing the process discipline needed to scale predictably in a complex, considered-sale environment typical of fintech.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Ownership: Own and deliver against company-wide revenue targets across new logo acquisition and expansion.
- Team Building: Recruit, hire, and coach a high-performing sales team, including sales managers and individual contributors.
- Sales Process: Design and instill a repeatable, forecastable sales process suited to mid-market and enterprise fintech sales cycles.
- Pipeline Management: Build pipeline discipline and forecasting rigor the executive team and board can rely on.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Compliance to align messaging, packaging, and go-to-market motion.
- Enterprise Relationships: Personally engage on strategic accounts and complex deal cycles involving financial institutions or regulated buyers.
- Compensation Design: Partner with Finance and HR to design sales compensation plans that drive the right behaviors.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of sales leadership experience in fintech, payments, or B2B SaaS, with direct P&L or quota accountability
- Demonstrated track record scaling ARR meaningfully within a growth-stage company
- Experience building a sales team and function from an early stage
- Comfort selling into regulated or financially sophisticated buyers
- Strong command of CRM, forecasting, and revenue operations best practices
Key Attributes
- Hunter: Personally drives new business alongside the team, not just from behind a dashboard
- Coach: Develops talent and builds bench strength, not just quota performance
- Resilient: Operates well in a fast-moving, still-forming commercial organization
- Data-Driven: Runs the business on pipeline metrics and forecast accuracy
